Photoshop Law

I think that there should be a law passed that restricts the use of photoshop in magazines, where the images must be credited to the person to who photographed them, as well as who retouched them. This can not only reveal which images are indeed photoshopped, but can also give credit where credit is due. Photoshopping is an art in its own, and the people who do so deserve to be recognized for their work, rather than the credit being given to just the magazine. It may seem like a small thing, but it could have a substantial impact on magazines. If magazines don't want their images to be credited for retouches, it may cause fewer images to be retouched.

In these two images, Madonna is photoshopped on the right and unphotoshopped on the left. Some work that was done on this photograph was her skin was smoothened, her lips were given a more lively shade, the age lines have been faded and her thin necklace was removed.

In these photos,  the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton is shown on her wedding day on the left, and on a magazine cover on the right. On the left, her right arm is holding Prince William's hand, but on the right, both arms are on the bouquet. They moved her arm, and touched up her skin, giving her a slight tan and more of a shine on her face.

In these two images, Katy Perry is posing for an album cover, with many retouches done. Her skin was smoothened and her eyebrows were edited. Her skin was also edited to be lighter, and her lips and eyes are more vibrant than the untouched image.
